How to pin "Recycle Bin" to taskbar?

1.Right click on a empty space for the desktop and click on New and Shortcut.

2. For the location, type %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe shell:RecycleBinFolder and mouse click on the Next button.

3. For the name, type Recycle Bin and select the Finish button.

4. Right click on the new Recycle Bin shortcut on the desktop and click with Properties.

5. Under the Shortcut tab, click around the Change Icon button.

6. In the "Look for icons... " line, type %SystemRoot%\system32\imageres. dll and hit enter.

7. Select the Recycle Bin icon and click OK.

8. Click on OK

9. Drag the brand new Recycle Bin shortcut upon the taskbar until you look at the Pin to Taskbar pop-up and drop it.

10. The Recycle Bin is currently pinned to the taskbar.

Even though Windows 7 icons are designed stylish and perfect,we are bored looking at the same icons everytime.It is common for everyone to expect a change and everyone would want to keep their desktop unique and rich.Changing the wallpaper and theme alone does not bring a big change in customizing windows 7.Changing icons could really bring a significant change and your operating system would look unique as compared to your friends desktop.

Many of them think changing icon would be risky and they avoid the idea of changing icons even though they are interested.Also i am forced to bring this tutorial to this blog in connection with my previous posts.For example,in my previous post "How to Pin Computer to Windows 7 Taskbar " i have recommended to change icon to avoid confusion.So Guys ,Follow the below steps carefully :

1) I am going to change this icon(see screenshot) to a different icon.

2) Right Click on that Program Icon and you will see something like this.

3) Again Right Click on that Program name.(In my case it is 'computer')

4) Click Properties and then Click 'Change Icon'.

Simple code is required to do this work which i do not claim as my own.Since it is a quite useful windows 7 tips,I am sharing it with you with screenshots.Follow the given steps carefully :

1) Right Click anywhere on your desktop and click New>>Shortcut.

2) Give the Shortcut name as "%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /E,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}"(without double quotes)

3) Then Click Next and change the name as "Computer".

4) Now Click Finish.Just drag the shortcut to taskbar and you are done.

5) Since the icons of explorer and computer(the shortcut we created now) are similar,it is better to change the icon to avoid confusion.

What is Math Input Panel?

Math Input Panel uses the math recognizer that's built into Windows 7 to recognize handwritten math expressions. You can then insert the recognized math into a word-processing or computational program.

Math Input Panel is designed to be used with a tablet pen on a Tablet PC, but you can use it with any input device, such as a touchscreen, external digitizer, or even a mouse.

To use Math Input Panel

Tap to open Math Input Panel
Write a well-formed math expression in the writing area.
The recognized math is shown in the preview area.
Make any necessary corrections to the math recognition. (To learn how, see "To make corrections" later in this topic.)
Tap Insert to put the recognized math into your word-processing or computational program.
Note
- Math Input Panel can only insert math into programs that support Mathematical Markup Language (MathML).

To make corrections

If your handwritten math is misrecognized, you can correct it either by selecting an alternate or by rewriting some of the expression. Here's how to correct an expression:

Hold down the pen button (or perform another right-click equivalent) and draw a circle around the part of the expression that was misrecognized. To select an individual symbol, perform a right-click equivalent while tapping the symbol.
–or–
Tap the Select and Correct button, and then tap the symbol or draw a circle to select the part of the expression that was misrecognized.
Tap an alternate from the list.
If what you wrote isn't on the list of alternates, try rewriting the part of the expression that you selected.
Tap Insert to insert the recognized math into the active program.
If you tapped Select and Correct but want to continue writing in Math Input Panel, tap Write to continue writing.

Tip

It's more likely that your math expression will be recognized correctly if you complete the whole expression before making any corrections. (The more of the expression that you write, the better the chance that it will be recognized correctly.)

To use the History menu

With the History menu, you can use an expression that you've already written as the baseline for a new expression. This is useful when you need to write similar expressions several times in a row—for example, when working out a mathematical proof. To do this, tap History, and then tap the expression that you want to use. Your handwritten expression appears in the writing area, where you can make changes. After you make changes, the expression is recognized again, and you can insert it into a document, presentation, or computational program.

To convert handwritten math from your notes

If you use a note-taking program such as Windows Journal to take handwritten notes on a Tablet PC, you can convert the math from your notes so that you can use it in a word-processing or computational program. To convert notes from Journal, do the following:

Tap to open Windows Journal.
Open your math notes and the program that you want to insert the recognized math into.
In Journal, use the selection tool to select the expression that you want to convert.
Tap to open Math Input Panel
Drag the selected math expression from Journal into Math Input Panel, and then make any necessary corrections.
In the program where you want to put the recognized math expression, tap Insert.

ENABLE BLOCKED RIGHT CLICK IN WEBSITES!!

Even though this topic is no connected with windows 7,this topic is most wanted by many internet users.It is mostly done by web masters to stop visitors from copying their contents and they dont want their content to be misused.However blocking "right click" is quit frustrating for visitors.I searched many websites for the solution to enable blocked right click in such websites.I managed to compile here what i have got :

1 ) Go to any right click blocked website and press "Shift + F10" and click on any link.You will notice that the link is opened in a seperate window.This trick does not work on some websites and also you cannot copy pictures from that website.This trick works on almost on all web browsers.

2 ) Now let us see the trick for different browsers :

Firefox : Click here to install the addon.Now restart your browser and you are done.

Chrome : Click here to install the addon.No need to restart your browser.Simply refresh your page and you are done.

Internet Explorer : This trick is not as simple and good as the previous ones.I recommend you to use chrome or firefox if you want to enable blocked right clicks.Anyway here is the trick

1) Run Internet Explorer (any version)

2) Go to Tools >> Internet Options

3) Select Security tab >> Click Custom Level button

4) Scroll to the Scripting menu (just before the bottom section) Under Active Scripting menu, select the disable radio button

5) A confirmation window will appear >> click Yes to confirm

6) Click OK >> Apply to save the changes

7) You are done.

After accessing the right click blocked website, you can follow the above steps again and enable the “Active Scripting” option as having this feature disabled might cause problems while accessing Java script enabled websites.

A friend of mine who is a professional singer asked me if he can hear his own voice when he is recording in windows.I told him i will check some softwares since there is no such option

in windows.One day accidently when i was diagnosting an error with audio driver,i found this winderful feature.

Here are steps to enjoy your own voice:

1)Right Click your volume icon in the system tray.

2)Select Recording devices from the options.

3)Choose your working Microphone and then select 'Properties'.

4)Then click "listen" tab.

5)click the check box "Listen to this device".

6)Now click 'ok' and you are done.

7)To stop click "Listen to this device" check box again and click "ok".

If you want to record and hear your voice use "sound recorder" from windows start menu.

NOTE : Use Headphones or External Mic for best results.

Mac stack style for Windows 7

The picture above shows stack option in Mac os.This feature can also be enabled in windows 7 taskbar.

Cool Isn't it.This feature is usually used in dock applications like object dock and rocket dock.If you want to know how to enable stack feature in object dock and rocket dock,comment for it.

Follow my procedures to enable stack in windows 7 :

1 ) Download "stackstyle.zip" from here.Click here to download.

Note : This application is not designed by me.It was originally designed by Chris'n'Soft.

2 ) Extract the file to desired location.

3 ) Get into 'stackstyle' folder and double click "StandaloneStack2.exe".You will see a screen as follows.

4 ) Click New Stack which is found at the last option of left column as shown in the screenshot.

5 ) Give the stack name of your choice.Then give the desired loation of folder you wanted to stack in 'path' tab.

For example : I give Stack name as 'Internet' and desired location as following screenshot.

6 ) You have two options to view your folder contents.

Stack or Fan type : used when folder contains less files in it.
Grid type : applied when folder contains more folders.

7 ) Select "Stack" in the 'open as' tab.(since the tutorial is about how to create a stack)

8 ) Then click "create stack" option.

9 ) Now you will find that a stack has been created as shown in screenshot.(Highlighted)

10 ) Now almost Done,Click "Create Shortcut".It will ask you where you wanted to save the stack.Give your desired location.But i advice you to save it in Desktop as it is easy to find.

11 ) You will find that stack at the destination you have given recently.It will be named as "Stack (your stack name)",Stack Internet in my case.Simply drag and drop the shortcut to taskbar as you do with other applications.

12 ) Click on the stack to view your folder with a Mac stack.It appears like this for me.

13 ) You can also change the icon of this stack.There are lot more options.Please try it yourself.Any clarification,comments section is open for you.

Simply use a sensitive mouse or tablet pen to capture any of the following types of snips:

Free-form Snip. Sketch an irregular line, say for example a circle or a triangle, all over an object.

Square Snip. Draw a precise brand by dragging the cursor around an object to make a rectangle.

Windowpane Snip. Select a windows, such as a web browser window or dialog box, that you want to be able to capture.

Full-screen Snip. Capture the entire tv screen when you select this kind of snip.

When you finally capture a snip, it's automatically copied into the mark-up window, where you possibly can annotate, save, or reveal the snip.

2.Prevent frequent full discharges due to the fact this puts extra stress on the battery.

3.Consider removing the battery from a laptop when running on fixed power for long duration.

4.Dont keep the battery inside the laptop if you are not going to use the laptop for long duration.keep your battery in fridge to maintain a cool temperature.(not freezer).

5. Never expose the battery to high heat or freezing temperatures. Do not leave your battery in your car in the summer. Hot batteries discharge very quickly, and cold ones can't create as much power.

6.Dont pack your laptop in a closed bag immediately after shutdown.

7.Bluetooth, wireless network, bright screen, wireless mouse and other hardware uses up battery life when active.Turn them off when not not in use.It would drain your battery life faster leading to battery failiure.

8.Give proper air circulation around your laptop.Always prefer a plain surface to seat your laptop and Never use laptops in sofa,pillow since it would heat the battery.

9.Periodically Do check if there is any leakage in your battery.If you find such problem stop using such batteries.

10.Never Remove your battery when laptop is running.

We are pleased to release our Ultimate Windows Tweaker v 2.0 for Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Ultimate Windows Tweaker is a freeware TweakUI Utility for tweaking and optimizing Windows 7 & Windows Vista, 32-bit & 64-bit. It can simply be downloaded and used as a portable application to customize your Windows to meet your requirements. With judicious tweaking, it can make your system faster, more stable, and more secure with just a few mouse clicks. The tweaker detects whether you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista installed and accordingly offers you the relevant tweaks only.

UPDATE: 12.12.09 – The latest version is Ultimate Windows Tweaker v 2.1. It includes bug-fixes and may be downloaded from the link mentioned below.

The tweaker is a 345KB .exe file which does not require an install, but yet packs over 150 tweaks & settings. Simply download the zip file, extract its contents and run Ultimate Windows Tweaker. Please don’t detach Empty Icon from executable’s root, the Empty Icon is copied to system directory and referred in runtime. The tweaker has been designed by my MVP collegue Ramesh Kumar for The Windows Club.
